Eligibility

Six questions. No credit check, no phone call.

Find out where you stand before you spend twenty minutes on an application. Nothing here is recorded or sent to us.

  1. 1 Are you 18 or over?

  2. 2 Do you have a National ID, passport or driver's licence?

  3. 3 What's your main source of income?

  4. 4 How long have you been earning it?

  5. 5 Do you have a bank account in your name?

  6. 6 Are you behind on any loan right now?

Apply

Two ways to apply. Both end with a real person.

Online takes about six minutes. If you'd rather do it on paper, download the form and bring it to any branch — we'll never charge you extra for applying the slow way.

Why us

Four promises, in writing, in your loan offer.

Every fee, before you sign.

One page listing the rate, the establishment fee, and the total you'll repay. If a charge isn't on that page, we can't charge it to you.

No penalty for paying early.

Clear the loan next month or next year — you pay only the interest that has accrued up to that day. Early repayment saves you money here.

We'll say no when no is right.

If the repayment would leave you short, we'll tell you and suggest a smaller amount. A loan you can't service is a bad sale for both of us.

Talk to us early if you're struggling.

Missed payments cost you more than a conversation does. Come in before it becomes arrears and we will restructure where we can.

What happens next

From application to money in hand.

Step 01

You apply

Online in six minutes, or on paper at a branch. Either way we need the same documents.

Step 02

We assess

We check your income and what you already owe. Usually a decision inside 24 hours.

Step 03

You read the offer

One page, plain language, every cost listed. Take it home overnight if you want to.

Step 04

Funds released

Into your account, or straight to the school or supplier where that's the arrangement.

Questions

The things people ask at the counter.

How fast will I get a decision?

Most applications are decided within one business day. Emergency loans under K3,000 are often same-day if you apply before midday with all your documents.

What documents do I need?

At minimum: photo ID, three recent payslips or six months of business records, and three months of bank statements. Run the eligibility check above and it will list exactly what applies to you.

Do I need a guarantor?

Not for salary-deduction loans. For business loans over K50,000 and for applicants under six months in a job, we usually ask for one.

What if my employer isn't on your deduction list?

You can still borrow — you'd repay by standing order from your bank account instead. Ask us and we'll approach your employer about setting up deductions.

Can I repay early?

Yes, at any time, with no penalty. You pay only the interest accrued to that date, so clearing a loan early genuinely costs you less.

What happens if I miss a payment?

Contact us before the due date if you can. We can often restructure. If you say nothing, a late fee applies and continued arrears are reported, which affects your ability to borrow anywhere.

Why is the emergency loan rate so high?

Because it's small, unsecured and short — the cost of assessing and administering it is spread over very few payments. It's the right tool for a genuine emergency and the wrong tool for anything else. We'll say so if you apply for one you don't need.

Do you lend to people already repaying another loan?

Often yes, provided the combined repayments still leave you enough to live on. Our top-up loan exists for exactly this, and we'll only do it if the new arrangement is cheaper than what you have.

Borrowers

In their words.

“They worked out I only needed half what I'd asked for, and told me so. First lender who ever talked me down.”

Marisa TanakaTeacher · school fee loan

“Applied on my phone on Tuesday night. They rang Wednesday morning. Stock was in the shop by Friday.”

Daniel OkonjoOwner, Northline Trading · business loan

“I fell behind when I got sick. I went in and they restructured it instead of adding fees. That's the whole reason I'm still a customer.”
